A chip that is programable is fine aswell. Marty, I think I do know what Im talking about mate. They all install the same way and intercept the same the circuitry is the same just different sourced components, so i would love to enlightened by some one on how there is a difference between the no limits unit and the most expensive on the market dp chip. I work on cars daily i am also under going an advance diploma in electrical engineering so by opening and looking at the internals it is a complex setup to make a fail safe setup to manipulate to signal above idle. The no limit ones are programmable in exactly the same way as all the rest and colorados already have an air to air intercooler. Not a personal attack against your self but you obviously dont know what you are talking about. Then get them to tune it to no less than 22AFR's. Then go get yourselves a front mount air to air (ebay $150) $500 total fitted. Just get a programable piggy back computer from a common company that can tune it propperly. My personal opinion is don't do it with a no limit chip or any other chip for that matter - just my experiences that's all.ĭo yourselves a favour and stop playing with gimicks. Yes there are happy customers with Steinbauers and all the rest but in the end you'll need to up the exhaust to 3' to get the full benefit from another type chip. I make no comment on any other of the more expensive or alterantive technology chips available other than the basic fact the engines and fuel systems are not designed to have chips fitted and I don't want another blown fuel rail or any other bit somewhere in the bush.

The motor already puts out 126KW and I've decided to abandon the whole chip idea, got enough grunt and if you want a race car go buy one. The cost of the common rail alone was $2000, doesn't include the other bits and pieces or any labour. What happened to mine was it blew out the common rail and continually leaked diesel down the side of the motor, lost a lot of diesel over time I can tell you.

I've got an 08 Hilux D4D and bought one of these chips last year, yeah an increase in power.but.Ĭut a long story short the no limit chips fool the fuel pump and increase the pressure in the common rail, more fuel pressure = more power, the fuel pumps run at 10,000 psi (not a misprint).
